Of more concern to me is the elevation of religious liberty to a mythos of which Christians should be wary. While our Founding Fathers enshrined religious freedom into the constitution, our Savior did not.
As with other sinful attitudes and actions followers of Christ are not immune to passive-aggressive responses to conflict.
This is an ongoing dilemma for all in church leadership as pressure exists to define ministry "growth" or "success" by one metric: numerical increases in attendance, conversions and offerings. Ministry shorthand is "bodies, baptisms and budgets."
The question is simply, "Are women the only ones who must dress modestly, or are men also accountable?"
Let a calamity occur, especially something related to "natural disaster" and it all breaks loose. With all the sympathy of a firing squad missives are launched to hungry fans and a stupefied world.
