My Top 10 Posts of 2015

In keeping with blogging tradition here are the top 10 posts for 2015 at Kingdom in the Midst. The top 10 are determined by page views counted by the WordPress Jetpack plugin. They have not been verified by Ernst & Young, Arthur Anderson or Arthur Murray.

   This post from June remains far-and-away the most read thing I have written. It has more than 10 times the views of my second place 2015 post. Being picked up by the Washington Post, Faithit and a couple of smaller sites, I’m confident more than 1,000,000 people read it on all platforms combined. Pretty cool.
2. It’s easy to get people to believe “fake news.” Here’s how.

   The way this election season is going, I could republish this one on a near-weekly basis.
4. A response to Hillsong’s Christmas flapper flap
   This recent post received much more traffic than I was expecting, and could move into the number 3 spot before year’s end. Since the first day of publishing, it has been driven largely by British and Australian readers. Thanks, mates!
5. Confession: I struggle with patriotic worship services
   I, frankly, did not expect the level of agreement among readers of this post. This one was also picked up by WaPo, for which I am grateful.
6. Obama, ISIS, and killer Christians
   The title pretty much says it all.
7. Eleven states needed to win the presidency
   If you’ve ever heard the phrase “evergreen content,” here’s an example. Election cycles bring readers to this 2012 post as people research the least number of states necessary to win the presidency via the electoral college.
8. That Ahmed’s clock vs suitcase bomb meme? It’s more fake “news.”
   This one was published on the fly after the suspicious meme caught my attention. By the time you read this, more people will have been injured by their Christmas presents than were killed, maimed or otherwise wounded by Ahmed’s clock.

   Casting the renowned parable in light of the Syrian refugee crisis.
10. Christians, this is what it will take to see Planned Parenthood closed
    This was published in the aftermath of the Center for Medical Progress series of videos. A follow-up will be published after the new year.
